November natural gas futures got off to a weak start in their first session at the front of the curve, weighed down by typically light shoulder season demand. However, lower production and tightening storage balances versus historical norms offered a bullish counterweight.

The November New York Mercantile Exchange futures were trading at $3.062/MMBtu as of 11:50 a.m. ET, down 4.4 cents from the previous session.
