NYK Unveils 'Diamond Gas Nexus' LNG Carrier for US Project

The NYK Group held a naming ceremony for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, the Diamond Gas Nexus, at HD Hyundai Samho Co., Ltd. in South Korea on September 18.

The vessel is chartered to Diamond Global Energy Pte. Ltd. (DGE), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation based in Singapore, under a long-term time-charter contract.

The Diamond Gas Nexus will primarily transport LNG for the Cameron LNG project in the United States, where both Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK are involved.

The vessel features advanced technology, including a dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine that can use both fuel oil and boil-off gas as fuel, reducing environmental impact.
