Odesa Region Sees Fuel Price Surge Amid Broader Price Increases

The Odesa region in Ukraine has seen significant price increases over the past eight months, according to data from the Main Department of Statistics. The consumer price index for January, August 2026 stood at 105.6%, with fuel and lubricants rising to 139.2% of last December's level.

The 'Transportation' category saw the largest increase, with prices up to 120.3%. Transportation services rose to 119.5%, while passenger rail transport increased to 124.9% and passenger road transport to 119.3%.

Prices for sunflower oil rose the most among food products, to 116%. In contrast, prices for meat and meat products remained below the December level, the index stood at 99.6%. The 'Milk, Cheese, and Eggs' category saw a noticeable decline, with the index standing at 91.7%.

The housing and utilities sector also experienced significant price changes, with water supply rising to 157.5%, sewer services increasing to 136.9%, and apartment building management services up to 119.8%.
