Oil Prices Fall as Pipeline Restarts and US-Iran Talks Hopes Rise
Global oil prices have fallen due to two major developments in the Middle East. The resumption of Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, which was damaged by an attack earlier this year, has allowed crude oil flows to resume. This has boosted hopes for a stable supply and led to a decline in oil trading.
The Brent crude futures fell by 7 cents, or 0.07 percent, to $99.18 per barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also fell by 35 cents, or 0.39 percent, to $90.17 per barrel.
Hopes have increased for a diplomatic solution to the dispute between the United States and Iran through talks at the United Nations in New York. This development has contributed to the decline in oil prices as investors become more optimistic about the prospects of a peaceful resolution.
