Oil Prices Fall, Wall Street Stocks Mixed Amid Iran Tensions
Stocks on Wall Street experienced a mixed finish last Friday as oil prices dropped for the first time in a week, amidst escalating tensions from the U.S. war with Iran.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 235.60 points, or 0.5%, to 51,947.25, while the Nasdaq fell 161.87 points, or 0.6%, to 24,975.82.
Investors are also dealing with new tariffs from the Trump administration and worries about inflation, which has been a concern for consumers and is looming over the Federal Reserve's interest rate policy.
The Fed meets next week and has been closely monitoring prices and their impact, with some predicting at least one rate hike by the end of the year.
