Oil Prices Rise Over 1% Amid Strait of Hormuz Concerns
Oil prices rose more than 1% on Friday, marking their strongest month since March. Brent futures settled at $90.12 a barrel, while WTI futures closed at $84.67.
The increase was driven by concerns over global crude flows, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian reports stated that some tankers were forced to turn back due to Houthi threats, further disrupting Middle East output.
Ole Hvalbye, a market analyst at SEB Research, noted that 'the market has stopped trading the war and started trading the shipping data.'
