Oil Prices Surge Amid US-Iran Tensions and Diesel Export Uncertainty
International oil prices have risen due to renewed tensions between the US and Iran. The November-delivery West Texas Intermediate (WTI) price is currently at $92.70 a barrel, up 0.6% from the previous session.
The increase in oil prices can be attributed to several factors, including hard-line remarks by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the possibility of US restrictions on diesel exports.
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that the administration is discussing voluntary export cuts with refiners instead of pursuing a blanket ban on diesel exports.
The market is closely watching whether the US and Iran will resume talks, as well as the outcome of the US diesel export policy, to determine future oil prices.
