OPEC+ Delays Production Capacity Review Amid Iran Conflict Impact
OPEC+, an alliance of oil-producing countries, has postponed its review of production capacities, which will determine oil quotas for 2027.
The delay is due to the consequences of the US and Israeli war against Iran, which disrupted some projects to expand oil production capacity in the Middle East.
The assessment of maximum sustainable production capacity was initially planned to be completed by September 30th, 2026, but has now been moved to mid-November.
Oil prices fell by 1% as a result of the delay, according to Reuters.
