OPEC+ Maintains Production Amid Rising Global Demand
Major oil-producing countries have agreed to maintain their production levels in November amid rising global demand. The decision was made by OPEC+, a subgroup consisting of seven major oil-exporting nations, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman.
The move comes as the price of benchmark Brent crude oil has surpassed $100 a barrel due to disruptions in global oil supplies caused by the ongoing conflict with Iran. The US and Israeli attacks on Iran began on February 28, leading to higher prices.
The Group of Seven wealthy democracies plans to release 100 million barrels of oil and fuel products over the coming weeks, starting with 'substantial' amounts of diesel. Diesel prices recently reached record highs in the United States, affecting farmers, truckers, and consumers who rely on this fuel.
