ORLEN and Naftogaz Strengthen Energy Partnership with LNG and Fuel Supply Deals
Poland's ORLEN and Ukraine's Naftogaz Group have deepened their energy partnership, signing two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to expand cooperation on liquefied natural gas (LNG), petroleum products, and crude oil. The agreements were signed during the Carpathian Eight Summit and aim to diversify supply routes, strengthen commercial ties, and support energy security in Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe.
The first MoU outlines a potential LNG supply deal between ORLEN and Naftogaz for three cargoes in the first quarter of 2027. For ORLEN, this would support its expansion into LNG trading activities and reinforce its role as a regional supplier. ORLEN President and CEO Ireneusz Fafara emphasized the importance of this partnership in strengthening energy security across Central and Eastern Europe.
The second MoU expands cooperation into petroleum products through potential collaboration between ORLEN and Ukrnafta, a Naftogaz Group company. The companies will examine opportunities to supply petroleum products to the Ukrainian market, potentially strengthening ORLEN's commercial presence in the region while improving supply flexibility for Ukraine.
