Orlen SA, Poland's largest oil company, is seeking to diversify its crude supplies due to disruptions in deliveries from key partner Saudi Arabia. The Middle East conflict has halted deliveries via a pipeline that transports oil to Europe and beyond.

The CEO of Orlen, Ireneusz Fafara, stated in an interview that the company's search for new sources of supply is a direct result of the geopolitical situation. He emphasized that the current situation shows diversification is 'an absolute necessity.'

Orlen has been active on the spot cargo market to replace deliveries halted by the drone strike on the Saudi pipeline. The company secured 16 alternative cargoes to plug the immediate gap, with four September cargoes from Aramco not arriving as expected.

Fafara noted that available assets for diversification are years away from production phase, and Orlen has been expanding its presence in Norway's offshore fields while searching for viable oil deposits in Africa and North America.
