Oxitera plans to trade oil, liquefied natural gas, and power. The firm's early hires include several ex-Trafigura leaders, including CFO Nicolas Marsac and North America head Conor McFadden.

According to Hallouche, 'The commodities landscape is undergoing a tectonic shift. The strategic nature of commodities has never been clearer; and technology has never been more transformational.'
