Pacific Link Pipeline Gets National Interest Designation
A proposed pipeline to transport oil from Alberta to Canada's West Coast has been designated a project of national interest by the federal government.
The Pacific Link pipeline, which would carry approximately one million barrels of crude oil per day, received this designation under the Building Canada Act on October 1.
Lac La Biche County Mayor Paul Reutov sees the announcement as an opportunity for his region to benefit from jobs, infrastructure growth, and new investment.
Reutov stated that his council will continue working hard to ensure Lac La Biche County has a voice in the project's development and is positioned to capitalize on potential benefits.
