Pakistan's Fuel Supply Chain in Jeopardy Amid Geopolitical Tensions
The oil industry in Pakistan is warning of a possible severe shortage of petrol and diesel due to geopolitical developments and disruptions to regional supply routes.
The Oil Advisory Council (OAC) and representatives of the oil industry have expressed concern that key supply routes, including the East-West Pipeline, could be disrupted.
Industry representatives said they had repeatedly approached the authorities over the issue but there has been little progress in resolving their concerns. They warned that the industry's financial capacity is being put under increasing pressure.
