Palm Beach County Gas Prices Soar Again Amid Middle East Conflict

Gas prices in Palm Beach County have surged again, reaching an average of $4.44 per gallon as of September 21, according to AAA.

This price increase is a significant jump from last week, one month ago, and one year ago, with the county seeing a more than $1 rise in regular gas prices compared to this time last year.

The spike in diesel prices has been even sharper, with Florida's average diesel price sitting at about $6.28 per gallon, nearly $3 higher than one year ago, according to AAA.

The cause of the rapid increase is linked to high crude oil prices caused by military conflict in the Middle East, specifically the war involving Iran, which has heavily restricted ship and oil-tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
