Peru's Traditional Exports See Strong Growth in June
Peru's traditional exports surged 30.2% year-over-year in June 2026, totaling $7.112 billion, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank (BCR). The increase was driven primarily by a 33.3% rise in export prices due to higher copper, gold, and lead quotations.
The higher prices were also influenced by increased hydrocarbon exports as a result of international price fluctuations related to the conflict in the Middle East.
However, in volume terms, exports declined by 2.6%, attributed to lower mining output and difficulties shipping certain commodities, including copper and zinc concentrates, as well as disruptions to fishmeal and fish oil production caused by El Niño.
