Petrobras has successfully incorporated technical corn oil into its asphalt production process at the Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap) in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

The company produced 95,000 tons of CAP Pro R asphalt with renewable content since June, when it started using TCO in the production process.

TCO is a semi-refined residual product obtained during grain processing intended for ethanol production, and its use enhances the use of renewable raw materials within the refinery focused on producing paving binders.

Petrobras Director of Logistics, Marketing, and Markets Angélica Laureano stated that the company is working to diversify the renewable inputs used in its refineries and increase the supply of products associated with lower carbon intensity.
