Petrol Prices in India Vary Across Cities Amid Global Crude Oil Price Fluctuations
India's domestic petrol prices are influenced by several factors, including global crude oil prices and currency exchange rates. As of August 16, 2026, the price of petrol in Nagaur was ₹113.69 per liter. In comparison, other cities in India have different petrol prices: Bangalore at ₹110.93, Chennai at ₹107.74, Hyderabad at ₹115.73, Kolkata at ₹113.51, and Mumbai City at ₹103.54.
The price of petrol is reviewed daily by state-owned fuel retailers Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) in line with the benchmark international rate of the preceding 15 days. This review takes into account the cost of crude oil, refinery charges, excise duty, dealer commission, VAT, and other local taxes.
