PETRONAS Fuel Supply Stable Until September: Government
The government has assured that PETRONAS stations across the country will have sufficient fuel supply until September, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
This network covers approximately 50% of Malaysia's domestic fuel needs supplied by PETRONAS through its subsidiary Petronas Dagangan Bhd.
Azalina stated that the Crisis Management Task Force (CMT) under the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) constantly monitors the situation and ensures supply security in the coming months, controlling prices and preventing smuggling and illegal activities.
The government is also making efforts to obtain crude oil supplies from exporters other than West Asia, such as from West Africa and the Americas, subject to commercial suitability.
Malaysia's estimated crude oil reserves are approximately 3.89 billion barrels of oil equivalent, with an estimated lifespan of over 20 years based on current production rates.
