Petronas, Malaysia's national oil and gas company, has signed an agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Metlen Energy & Metals SA, a Greek energy company. The deal will see Petronas' London-based commodities marketing arm, PETCO Trading (UK) Ltd (PTUK), deliver six LNG cargoes per year over five years starting in 2027.

The agreement is worth approximately 0.6 billion cubic meters of LNG per annum and reinforces Greece's position as a strategic regional energy hub. It also supports Metlen's Energy Sector Utility strategy to diversify its LNG supply sources, enhancing flexibility and resilience in procurement.

Petronas has been expanding its LNG supply capabilities in recent years, securing agreements with major importers such as Japan. The company has signed deals with Hokuriku Electric Power Co, Shizuoka Gas Co Ltd, and JERA Co Inc to supply up to 2 million metric tons of LNG per year for various periods.
