Pillen Emphasizes Workplace Culture as Key to Nebraska Agriculture's Future

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen emphasized the importance of workplace culture and relationships in the state's agricultural future during his address at Husker Harvest Days, a three-day event showcasing cutting-edge advancements in field equipment and precision data. The governor joined state FFA officers for a wide-ranging discussion on opportunities and hurdles facing Nebraska producers.

Pillen highlighted the value of maximizing every component of the corn crop while lowering its carbon footprint through carbon capture. He pointed to Nebraska's ability to utilize a third of the corn kernel for ethanol, a third for byproducts for livestock, and a third for CO2 that is now being captured and sold.

The governor cautioned against relying solely on technology to sustain farm and ranch businesses, stressing that strong communication, organizational culture, and local community ties remain foundational to long-term survival. He noted that 'a great culture' can make up for technological brilliance in the face of financial difficulties.
