Poland's industry gas prices have seen significant fluctuations between 2007 and 2025, according to data from Statista. The prices remained relatively stable between 2008 and 2020, but started rising in the first half of 2021. By the second half of 2023, prices reached a peak of over ** euro cents per kilowatt hour, more than double the lowest annual price in 2016.

The structure of natural gas supplies to Poland has also undergone changes. In 2022, the country imported 154.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) from abroad and 40 TWh from domestic sources. The eastern direction accounted for a significant share under a long-term PGNiG-Gazprom contract.

However, in May 2022, the Polish government terminated the 1993 intergovernmental agreement with Russia on gas transit and supplies after Gazprom halted deliveries to Poland the previous month.
