Prysmian and Aurubis have signed a long-term agreement for the supply of copper wire rod, aiming to strengthen copper supply security amid rising demand from electrification, power infrastructure, and digital networks.

The deal, Prysmian's largest agreement with Aurubis to date, will provide the cable manufacturer with reliable and flexible copper supply while supporting Europe's access to a critical material for its energy and digital infrastructure.

Aurubis currently produces copper wire rod containing approximately 36% recycled material, with a carbon footprint significantly below the global industry average. Its four copper rod plants across Europe will provide Prysmian with supply flexibility and proximity to key markets.
