Prysmian and Aurubis Secure Copper Supply with Landmark Long-Term Agreement

Prysmian and Aurubis have strengthened their decades-long partnership by signing a landmark long-term agreement for the supply of copper wire rod. This deal ensures a reliable, flexible, and increasingly sustainable source of copper wire rod for Prysmian, one of the world's largest buyers of this material.

The agreement comes as demand for copper grows due to the expansion of power grids, renewable energy infrastructure, electrification, and AI infrastructure. Europe's access to low-carbon copper rod and cable production has been enhanced through this partnership, which is critical to its energy and digital future.

Aurubis, Europe's largest vertically integrated low-carbon copper rod producer, combines scale, quality, and security of supply. The company currently produces copper wire rod with approximately 36% recycled material content and a carbon footprint significantly below the global industry average.
