PTT Group Drives Thailand's Hub Ambition at Gastech 2026
At Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, PTT Group showcased Thailand's energy potential as a regional hub and key player in liquefied natural gas (LNG) markets. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Energy Minister Akanat Promphan attended the opening of PTT's exhibition.
Kongkrapan Intarajang, CEO and President of PTT Plc, emphasized the company's commitment to balancing security, affordability, and sustainability through the Energy Trilemma. He highlighted natural gas and LNG as essential 'destination fuels' for renewable integration, backed by robust cross-border pipeline networks and infrastructure.
PTT Group's strategy includes infrastructure leadership, with PTTEP operating across 10 countries and supplying gas through PTT's 4,500-kilometre pipeline network. The company is also expanding its global LNG portfolio, targeting 3.7 million tonnes in 2026, 10 million tonnes by 2030, and 15 million tonnes by 2035.
Decarbonisation and innovation are key areas of focus for PTT Group, with the advancement of PTTEP's Arthit CCS project, Thailand's first carbon capture and storage facility. The project aims to reduce up to 1 million tonnes of CO2 per year, while also developing low-carbon ecosystems and AI-driven smart energy solutions.
