Qatar has condemned an attack on two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers at Egypt's Damietta Port, calling it a 'direct threat to global energy supplies'.

The attack was described as a 'blatant violation of international law' and an 'irresponsible act that undermines regional security and jeopardizes the interests of nations.'

In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its complete rejection of attacks on vital infrastructure.

The ministry urged concerted efforts toward de-escalation to restore regional and international stability, reiterating Qatar's full solidarity with Egypt and support for all measures taken by the country to preserve its sovereignty and national security.
