Qatar Cracks Open Hormuz Bottleneck with LNG Ship Surge

Qatar has increased liquefied natural gas tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz to its highest level in over two months, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. This indicates that Qatar is becoming more confident in moving ships through the waterway.

At least two loaded LNG carriers have been sent out through the narrow strait in the past week, while at least two others moved in the opposite direction to enter the Persian Gulf. One of these shipments is headed for India's west coast.
