Qatar LNG Supply Uncertain Amid Ongoing Strait Disruptions
Jera Co., the world's largest liquefied natural gas buyer, doesn't expect Qatar to resume LNG supply to the market soon. According to Yukio Kani, chairman and global CEO of Jera Co., disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz will persist, limiting flows from a region that accounted for about 20% of global supply before the Middle East war.
LNG spot prices have doubled compared to this time last year, causing concern among market participants. Kani warned that 'market participants worry about this coming winter'.
