QatarEnergy LNG Tanker Exits Strait of Hormuz After Nearly Three-Week Blockage

A QatarEnergy liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker named Al Areesh has exited the Strait of Hormuz for the first time in nearly three weeks, according to data from analytics firms Kpler and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). The vessel loaded its cargo at Qatar's Ras Laffan terminal between July 4 and 6.

The tanker sailed out of the strait overnight on July 29, marking the first time a QatarEnergy LNG tanker has exited since another tanker, Al Rekayyat, was attacked in early July. Al Hamra, which carried a cargo loaded at Das Island in the UAE, left the strait on July 11.

The data also showed that the LNG tanker Marrouh, which had been outside the Strait of Hormuz on July 24, reappeared inside the strait on Thursday. The Strait of Hormuz saw 12 commodity-carrying vessels pass through it on Wednesday, with six entering and six exiting.
