Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi has directly linked the recent oil pollution on Qeshm Island to US-Israeli aggression in the region. According to a tweet by Gharibabadi, the incident highlights the urgent need for Iran to establish its own management mechanism for the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The spill was reported to have been nearly completely contained through rapid and effective action, demonstrating Iran's capacity to protect its marine environment despite ongoing consequences of foreign military aggression. Monitoring teams found no carcasses of dolphins or sea turtles linked to the pollution.

The incident is part of a broader environmental fallout from US-Israeli aggression against Iran, which has repeatedly targeted the country's vital oil and energy infrastructure.
