Record Corn Yields Can't Offset High Input Costs for Western Kentucky Farmers

Western Kentucky farmers are benefiting from record corn yields this fall, but high input costs remain a concern. According to Trigg County Agriculture Extension Agent David Fourqurean, the corn harvest is wrapping up across the region, with full season soybeans not far behind.

The higher input prices are affecting both farmers and consumers, Fourqurean noted. While the record yields may seem like good news, they do little to alleviate the financial burden of production costs.

Fourqurean emphasized that these input costs have a ripple effect, impacting not just farmers but also those who purchase agricultural products.
