Reinert Logistics Places Record Order for 500 Gas-Powered Volvo Trucks
Reinert Logistics has placed an order for 500 Volvo gas-powered trucks. The German transport company has opted for Volvo's LNG (liquid natural gas) technology, citing lower fuel costs and a locally produced bio-LNG fuel source as key factors in their decision.
The new fleet of Volvo FH Aero trucks will be delivered starting in 2027. This order marks the largest LNG truck order to date for Volvo Trucks. The company's previous experience with an initial fleet of 50 gas-powered trucks also contributed to Reinert Logistics' decision.
Volvo noted that their gas engines are available in the heavy-duty FH, FM, and FH Aero ranges and can operate on conventional liquefied natural gas or bio-LNG produced from organic waste. The company expects 2026 volumes of gas-powered trucks to exceed its strongest sales year to date, which was 2025.
The Volvo gas-powered trucks are designed to deliver competitive power, torque, engine response, and fuel efficiency. According to Volvo, these trucks can travel up to 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) on a single tank, making them suitable for long-haul and regional distribution as well as construction applications.
