Repsol Sees Growth in Exploration and Production Amid Libyan Expansion
Repsol has reported growth in its exploration and production sector for the first half of 2026, driven by increased oil production in various countries. One key area of growth is Libya, where Repsol was awarded two new exploration blocks as part of the country's first licensing round in nearly two decades.
This move strengthens Repsol's presence in the Libyan market, alongside its projects in Alaska and Brazil. The company reported adjusted net income from exploration and production of €673 million in the first half of the year, with average production rising to 558,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the second quarter.
Repsol expects its average production to range between 560,000 and 570,000 barrels per day for the remainder of the year. This growth is a positive sign for the company's performance, particularly as it expands its operations in Libya.
