Robinhood Launches Copper Futures Prediction Contracts for October 2026
On October 7, 2026, traders on Robinhood will have the opportunity to speculate on the settlement price of December 2026 copper futures. The platform is offering event contracts that allow users to predict whether the futures price will settle above specific thresholds, including over $6.36, $6.39, $6.42, $6.45, or $6.48 per pound. These contracts have replaced the previous references to front-month copper futures, now focusing on the active-month contract for resolution.
Trading for these contracts is available 24 hours a day, except for a brief maintenance window from 3 to 3:15 AM ET on Wednesdays. Users can earn $1 for every correct prediction they hold at the time of resolution, which typically occurs within an hour of the event's conclusion. Alternatively, traders can choose to close their positions before the event resolves to avoid additional fees.
Robinhood Derivatives, LLC facilitates these event contracts through platforms like KalshiEX LLC, ForecastEX, LLC, Rothera Exchange and Clearing LLC, or North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. The company emphasizes that trading futures and options involves significant risk and may not be suitable for all investors.
