Rosario Takes Top Spot as World's Largest Grain Export Port

The largest grain export port in 2026 is Argentina's Gran Rosario complex, which surpassed New Orleans and Santos by shipping 75.7 million tonnes of grain, oils, meals, and by-products in 2025.

According to the Rosario Exchange, the ranking was published on May 29, 2026, reversing the order shown in most reference tables.

The Gran Rosario complex works similarly to the Mississippi system in the US, where about 60% of US grain exports reach Gulf elevators by barge down the river.

In Argentina, the wheat year runs until November 2026, and the country's export program is expected to reach 105.1 million tonnes of grains, oilseeds, oils, and by-products in the same period.
