Rovuma LNG Project Awards Construction Services to Saipem, McDermott, and Others
The Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique has awarded engineering and limited procurement services to construct its facilities to Saipem, McDermott, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, and China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC), a joint venture known as SMDC.
ExxonMobil's 18.6 million tonnes per annum (MMTPA) Rovuma LNG project is located on the Afungi Peninsula in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, and will include 12 liquefaction modules fed by gas from the Mamba complex in Area 4.
McDermott, a key partner in the SMDC joint venture, said that engineering of the project will be executed from its London and Gurgaon offices, with project management seconded to a team based in Milan, Italy.
