Rupee Jumps 28 Paise Amid Crude Oil Price Slump
The Indian rupee started the week on a strong note by gaining 28 paise against the US dollar. This comes after Brent crude oil prices dropped to nearly $92 per barrel, a sharp decline of 4.17%.
This decrease in oil prices has eased pressure on India's import bill and lifted market confidence. The rupee had closed Friday at 96.53 against the dollar, and Monday's jump marked one of its strongest recent gains.
Market experts attribute the rise in the rupee to the drop in crude oil prices. As India imports most of its crude oil, lower prices mean less spending on imports, reducing demand for US dollars and supporting the rupee.
