Rupee Rises as Brent Crude Eases Amid Diplomacy Hopes

The Indian rupee opened six paise higher at 95.81 against the US dollar on September 21, as Brent crude oil prices eased by 2% to $101 a barrel.

This move comes after a weekend where tensions in West Asia had driven up oil prices. However, hopes of diplomacy between the US and Iran have led to a slight decrease in Brent crude prices.

The RBI has been monitoring the rupee closely and intervened when it briefly touched the 96-dollar mark earlier this week. Market analysts expect the central bank to continue intervening if there is a sharp depreciation in the rupee.
