Samsung Heavy Lands $494M LNG Carrier Order

Samsung Heavy Industries Co. has won a major contract to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers worth $494.3 million, the company announced on October 2.

The vessels will be delivered to an Asian shipowner by May 2029, according to Samsung Heavy's regulatory filing.

This latest order brings the total value of contracts secured by Samsung Heavy this year to $8 billion for building 46 commercial vessels. The company has also secured orders worth $12.4 billion in total for 48 vessels and facilities.
