Saudi Arabia Thwarts Houthi Ballistic Missile Attacks

Saudi Arabia's military intercepted six ballistic missiles fired by Yemen's Houthi rebels on Thursday, targeting the southern provinces of Taif and Yanbu. The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said that the attacks were thwarted, but it was unclear whether there were any casualties or damage in either province.

The attack on Yanbu comes as Saudi Arabia is rebuilding its oil exports through the East-West pipeline, which was shut down due to drone attacks on September 11. The port of Yanbu is a key route for Saudi crude shipments when the Strait of Hormuz is disrupted.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said that the group had attacked Saudi military sites in Jazan province using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, targeting 'operations rooms, command and control centres, weapons depots' and missile launch sites.
