Saudi Arabia's military campaign in Yemen has been met with little success, according to Hussain Al-Bukhaiti, a top Yemeni journalist. In an interview, Al-Bukhaiti described how Saudi-backed forces have been essentially driving around empty desert areas in eastern Al-Jawf province, pretending to make progress.

‘They just go to an open area and keep shooting at a hill or a small mountain, and there’s no one there,’ Al-Bukhaiti said. ‘They are sitting ducks for Ansarallah fighters who hold all the key high ground in the west of the province.’

Al-Bukhaiti also predicted that Marib province, which is rich in oil and gas, will fall to Ansarallah, comparing it to the city of Mocha. ‘It could be easier’ for Ansarallah to capture Marib because Saudi air cover has already been limited.
