Saudi Crown Prince Warns of Energy Crisis Amid Regional Escalation
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has warned that the world is facing an energy crisis with uncertain outcomes. In his annual royal address to the Shura Council, he emphasized Saudi Arabia's role in maintaining global energy security despite regional escalation.
The kingdom has taken initiatives such as establishing the Multinational Maritime Defense Alliance to enhance maritime security and protect shared interests in international sea lanes. Prince Mohammed bin Salman called on the international community to ensure the safe flow of essential goods and humanitarian assistance.
He also highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to strengthen regional stability, including its support for the Yemeni government through a coalition aimed at restoring legitimacy and confronting Houthi attacks. On the domestic front, he reported progress under the country's 10-year plan, Vision 2030, with non-oil exports growing 155 percent compared to 2016.
