Saudi Oil Pipeline Damage Sparks Repair Fears and Regional Tensions
Saudi Arabia's strategic East-West oil pipeline has suffered extensive damage, according to recent satellite imagery. The necessary repair and maintenance work could take several months, potentially extending up to a full year.
The damage was caused by multiple drone attacks on vital sections of the pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions. The Saudi Ministry of Energy immediately shut down the pipeline as a precautionary measure to prevent further losses.
The attack was reportedly carried out from Iraqi territory, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry. However, the group known as the 'Islamic Resistance' in Iraq has denied any involvement in the strike, stating that it is a diversionary tactic.
