Saudi Pipeline Restart Triggers Oil Price Retreat
Oil prices have retreated as Saudi Arabia has resumed crude supplies through a vital pipeline to the Red Sea. This development comes amid growing hopes of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict between the United States and Iran, with talks underway at the United Nations in New York.
Brent crude futures declined by 7 cents, or 0.07 percent, to $99.18 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell by 35 cents, or 0.39 percent, to $90.17 per barrel. This decline marks the first time Brent crude has settled below $100 per barrel since September 8th.
Iraqi Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed reported an increase in his country's oil exports, with more than three million barrels being exported daily. Exports through Turkey are expected to reach over 600,000 barrels per day.
