Saudi Pipeline Resumes Operations After Drone Attack Halt
Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline has resumed operations after being shut down due to a drone attack on September 11. The pipeline, which transports crude oil from the kingdom's eastern fields to its Red Sea port of Yanbu, was forced to halt exports from Yanbu, adding pressure to global oil prices. Aramco notified customers that it would resume loading oil tankers from Yanbu with its October schedule.
The resumption of pipeline operations and oil tanker loadings is a positive sign for the global oil market, which has been affected by the US-Iran conflict. The kingdom's decision to restart the pipeline is seen as a relief to traders and investors who were concerned about the impact of the drone attack on oil supplies.
State oil giant Saudi Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the resumption of pipeline operations.
