Scrap Metal Prices Surge: Copper, Aluminum Rise as Steel Holds Steady

Copper and aluminum scrap prices saw significant gains on August 13, 2026. According to ScrapMonster's daily report, #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing each rose by CNY 600 per metric ton. Additionally, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 600 per metric ton.

The aluminum segment saw prices jump for various products, including 6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots, which both rose by CNY 50 per metric ton. E.C Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet prices also saw a CNY 50 per metric ton increase.

However, not all scrap metal prices increased on August 13. Steel and stainless steel grades, including 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, and 309 SS, held steady with no change from the previous day. Brass and bronze scrap prices recorded a modest increase, with Red Brass and Yellow Brass each edging higher by CNY 100 per metric ton.
