SEC Greenlights Volatility Shares' 3x Bitcoin Futures ETF Listing

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved Cboe BZX Exchange's rule change to list Volatility Shares' 3x Bitcoin Futures ETF. This clears the way for a new exchange-traded product tied to Bitcoin futures.

Alongside the Bitcoin product, the SEC approval covers six funds under VS Trust: a 3x Ether ETF and leveraged funds tied to gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas. Trading can begin once each fund's registration statement becomes effective, with at least 100,000 shares outstanding at its opening.

The Bitcoin ETF aims to track three times the daily performance of a benchmark based on Bitcoin futures, before fees and expenses. It will gain exposure through futures contracts and hold cash and cash equivalents as collateral, rather than directly owning BTC.
