Sempra Signs 20-Year LNG Supply Deal with Petrobras
Sempra Infrastructure has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Petrobras, one of the world's leading energy companies. The deal commits Sempra to provide approximately 800,000 tons per year of LNG to Petrobras over the course of 20 years.
The LNG will be sourced from Sempra Infrastructure's Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project, currently under construction in Texas. This project includes two liquefaction trains capable of producing around 13 million tons per year of LNG, increasing the total liquefaction capacity at the facility to up to 26 Mtpa.
This agreement marks an important milestone for Sempra Infrastructure's growing LNG business and establishes a strategic relationship with Petrobras. It also underscores the role that Sempra plays in providing reliable and secure US natural gas to customers around the world, according to Justin Bird, CEO of Sempra Infrastructure.
