Senate Releases Proposal for Farm Bill 2.0 with Expanded Support for Dairy, Specialty Crops, and Corn Growers

The Senate Agriculture Committee has released its proposal for the Agricultural Act of 2026, also known as 'Farm Bill 2.0.'

The bill would strengthen safety-net protections for farmers, expand support for dairy and specialty crop growers, and provide new conservation opportunities.

Randy Romanski, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, says the Farm Bill lays a foundation for agriculture in the United States, and it's long overdue for Congress to approve a new one.

The bill would also include provisions for year-round sales of E15 gasoline, which could help corn growers by expanding demand for corn-based ethanol and providing greater market certainty.
