Seplat Energy Restarts Yoho Production Platform Offshore Akwa Ibom State
Nigeria's oil output has received a significant boost following the restart of Seplat Energy's Yoho production platform offshore Akwa Ibom State.
The facility, which had been shut down after a fire incident in September 2025, is expected to restore about 20,000 to 25,000 barrels of oil per day.
Seplat embarked on extensive repair and asset integrity work to return the platform to operation, replacing over 60 kilometers of cabling and almost 400 piping spool replacements as part of efforts to improve the reliability of its offshore operations.
The restart gives Seplat additional room to pursue its wider production plans, which include restoring previously idle wells across its offshore assets. The company has already restored 24 wells during the first half of 2026 and an estimated 26,000 barrels per day of combined gross production capacity.
